"The Return" of Ruben Studdard

CD Title: The Return is to be release on September 26, 2006
Artist: Ruben Studdard www.rubenstuddard.com
Record Label: J Records www.jrecords.com

Studdard performed in Dallas at the Wal-Mart National Convention with Gladys Knight, his back up singer said. August 27, he did not perform at Arlington’s Club Crystals but gave autograph photos to his female fans. On his upcoming The Return album, the "velvet-teddy-bear" produced the track "If Only For One Night”, a remake of the Brenda Russell song popularized by Luther Vandross. According to his website he also co-wrote, "I'm Not Happy," and "To Tha Crib."

Studdard performed on Fred Hammond’s upcoming album. Information of the upcoming album is not available.

The "Change Me" single, produced by The Underdogs, is in high rotation on local radio stations. "Change Me", is reminds me of "Sorry 2004" with same slow beats and sad lyrics. It, also, makes me wonder why would anybody want change the big-teddy-bear Studdard. After meeting Studdard at Crystal’s, he seems to be such a quiet and sweet teddy bear.

His album named The Return, because the American Idol winner wants his fans that he is returning to R&B from his gospel CD.

I look forward to hearing the rest of the songs on his album. I give the single * * * stars out of * * * * *.

Paris is coming to Your Town.

Title: Self-Titled Debut Album Paris releases on August 22, 2006

Artist: Paris Hilton, ParisHiltonRecord.com

Record Label and URL: Warner Bros.com/WEA

Review Author: Paris Hilton has appeared in the movies Bottom’s up, House of Wax and the infamous TV series The Simple Life. In 2005, she was an executive producer and star of National Lampoon’s Pledge This. Now, she is adding singer and writer to her resume.

Review Contents
I finally gave notice to track five, Jealousy, because of the lyrical content. Hilton never mentions Nicole Richie’s name but takes a punch at her.

Lyrics go like this, “Now, I am like the devil… I thought you were my best friend… was the shoulder that I could lean on. How could the good between turn so bad? Jealous, is such an evil thing."
I did not consider Hilton was the devil in the break up, until now.

Hilton sings Nothing in This World, which hints how she plans to seduce men by telling them she "Can do what she can do, but so much better… nothing in this world can stop us… I am gonna make you feel alright.”
Even tho, Hilton did not write this song, is this song a self-description of her playboy-self-centered ways?

Screwed, written by Kara DioGuardi and Greg Well, Hilton belts how she really feels about your man. You do not deserve him and she just might steal him from you, if he gave her a chance. Watch out women from hell.
“Since I'm already screwed…
Yet, I'm still hoping
That tonight, tonight, you're gonna turn down the lights
And give me a little more room just to prove it to you
What do I gotta do?”
Just push her aside
She's not your type
So clich when a boy falls under the spell
Of a woman from hell”

Turn You On, produced by Scott Storch, starts out with hot track beat. Hilton’s lyrics begin to convey the story of how she likes attention and what its like to live in her shoes.

This track, Do Ya Think I’m Sexy goes back to the late 70’s jam. Bring out the big afro’s, plaid pants and sing with me, “If you want my body and you think I am sexy. Come on sugar, let me know.”
This is the only song on the album that I want push repeat the button.

Hilton only co-wrote four songs of the eleven but the songs seem to fit her bigger than life image. Her money did allow her to pay for some good tracks but did not buy her a new voice. I give the album two stars out of five stars.
